A sandpit with a canopy is the ideal way to tackle this problem such as our Kids Wooden Toy Sandpit with Adjustable Canopy. The grey UV-protected canopy shades children from the sun (and perhaps rain!) whilst they play in the charming wooden sandbox underneath.

An internal ground sheet keeps the sand in place permits water drainage (bugs enjoy making a home in damp sand) and prevents grass and weeds from growing into the play area. Your children will have hours of fun without having to suffer from sunburn afterwards!
